Frequently Asked Questions

Are Your Construction Shirts ANSI Class 2 and Class 3 Compliant?

Reflective Apparel offers construction shirts that comply with ANSI Class 2 and Class 3 standards. We also provide non-ANSI options.

What are the Different ANSI Classifications for Work Shirts?

ANSI 2 apparel offers moderate visibility, requiring at least 775 square inches of background material and 201 square inches of retroreflective material. This type of apparel is suitable for workers near traffic moving at speeds of 25 mph or more, such as road construction workers, survey crews, and utility workers.

ANSI 3 apparel provides high visibility, with at least 1240 square inches of background material and 310 square inches of retroreflective material. It is intended for workers in high-risk environments exposed to high-speed traffic, complex backgrounds, and inclement weather conditions, such as highway construction workers, flaggers, and emergency responders.

Non-ANSI apparel varies in visibility and does not meet the ANSI/ISEA 107 standards for visibility and safety. Such apparel can be used in low-risk environments or for tasks that do not require high-visibility protection, like general indoor work, warehouse operations, or casual use.
